Treatment #4
4 out of 4 Infusion treatments are COMPLETE!
What does that mean now…I am not completely sure. I do know that I have a CT scan scheduled for November 3, and a follow up appointment with my oncologist on November 19. Other than that, we will wait and see. Fingers crossed I will be on the upward slope and can continue to focus on an ongoing project…finding a job!
The treatment went smoothly, and this time one of the nurses saw the bags of fluids I would be getting and was like “holy cow I was expecting you to close the place down with that much fluid running through you”. I had never heard the milliliters until yesterday, and even then, I did not get the full scope. Just that two of the biggest bags were well over 1,000 m/l. No wonder I have to use the bathroom so much after.
I once again felt very tired during treatment. I took a little nap, but this week was more interesting when a very nice woman (Sharon) was put in the chair next to me and my husband and had her service dog (Juno) with her. It was so nice to see that all the nurses knew her and would come over to pet on her (the dog). She brought up the morale, and I do not care what anyone says…it is definitely needed especially in an infusion center.
Sharon and I struck up a conversation which last for the last two hours of my treatment. I think it helped us both get through it, and the infusion seemed to go faster. We talked about our respective Cancers and the journeys we have been on with it. We talked about our dogs and animal friends, and just life in general.
I hope and pray for her that she is able to kick cancers butt and have many more years beside her fur baby. Thank you, Sharon and Juno for bringing some joy into my day.
