Treatment #3 – September 29
Thanks to my amazing husband we can now add blogs! I am going to backtrack to the last treatment, and moving forward will be able to write day to day.
September 29 – Treatment number 3 of 4 (fingers crossed)
For each infusion treatment I arrive, go straight to the lab for port tube, to get levels checked, and urine sample. Then we go see the doctor/nurse practitioner to get updates on labs. Once we have “all clear”, we (my husband and I) head to the infusion room to get assigned to a chair. The infusion center I go to has a large infusion room with 2-3 bays, and additional small rooms and chairs. I have been in the first bay for each infusion thus far.
Everything seemed to be as it had for each other two treatments. I start with saline drip, then anti-nausea meds, then bag one (45 minutes), bag two (2.5 hours), and another bag of saline. In total it takes about 4 hours for the infusion.
However, now as I write this, 14 days post treatment…the fact that I fell asleep in the infusion chair should have been a sign that this treatment yet again was not going to be like the others.
