Inspired and Grateful
I am very inspired by Meghan and how she has created this to tell her story and to help others. I worked with Meghan years ago and loved her bubbly personality and work ethic. I am not surprised that she is doing this.
My quick story – 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 0, Ductal Carcinoma in Situ. This was found very early in a routine Mammogram. I am very faithful in getting my mammograms and sonogram because I have dense breasts and have had a couple of biopsies before. Also my mother was diagnosed in her 60’s with breast cancer and I believe it was very similar to mine. After a lumpectomy and then a re-incision because the margins were not clear, I under went 15 radiation treatments and now on Anastrozole. I faithfully go to my oncologist appointments and continue to have my yearly mammogram. I am grateful that it was caught so early. The funniest thing I can say from this experience is that I have never given out my birthdate so much. Everyday during radiation, every doctors appointment and that is multiple times because I think anytime I encounter a staff member their first words are “Date of Birth”.
Prayers to you Meghan!

Thank you for sharing. I had no idea. Although that does seem to be the norm. I think so many feel awkward sharing their story because we do not want it to seem like we are broadcasting it or looking for sympathy. Our journeys should be shared though because for every one of us that is going through it, maybe we can help someone who was just diagnosed answer some of those scary questions running through their minds.
So, I thank you for sharing your journey, and for your prayers. Continued prayers for you too as I hope the medicine is keeping it at bay.
